TestMasters LSAT Course Reviews
| Michael Marsell | University of Massachusetts-Amherst | Before TestMasters 154 | After TestMasters 170 |
“When it comes to getting into law schools, your LSAT score is the biggest factor. Just a few extra points can put you into a better range of schools and make the difference when it comes to scholarship money. That said, my decision to attend a full-length TestMasters course has paid for itself, and then some.
Before taking the course, my approach on several practice tests I’d purchased was extremely haphazard. I had no methodology for breaking down the questions; I had no system. TestMasters has basically done the work for you, categorizing all the question types that appear on the LSAT as well as the types of passages you will encounter. They also provide you with more practice questions and material drawn from actual LSATs than you will likely ever be able to complete (this is a good thing!!). The TestMasters course not only teaches you the techniques to correctly answer the questions, but breaks down how you are doing on each question type, and thus allows you to see and target your weaknesses. For example, at a point I was getting more Type 2 Questions wrong on the Logical Reasoning sections than I was all other types of questions combined on those sections. Without TestMasters’ methodology of breaking down the question types, I would have remained woefully unaware of this glaring weakness. Studying alone, I never could have recognized this.
Of course, by itself the course is no magic bullet, but if you are willing to put the work in I can virtually guarantee your score will improve. I highly recommend TestMasters to anyone who is serious about law school and willing and able to put the time in that mastering the LSAT requires. Finally, a quick shout-out to my instructor Matt Peterson. He was enthusiastic about the material even when it might get a little dry towards the end of a three-hour class and did a great job of answering our questions. Thanks Matt!!”

“I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with TestMasters or about my instructor. I recommend this course to everybody, which is really saying something because I am a student executive leader for the political science department and I talk to pre-law students about the LSAT almost exclusively. I thought the curriculum made sense and the homeworks, though challenging and frustrating when I was doing them, were so helpful and necessary in hindsight. What made this program most impactful was my instructor, Anthony Meni. He went above and beyond to help me through my LSAT process and, from what I have heard from other TestMasters students, I was not unique in this experience. I genuinely believe that he wanted each of us to succeed not only on the LSAT but in law school and as attorneys. He would frequently connect course concepts to practical experience (What skill is this question type trying to exercise? What about a legal practice might necessitate this skill?) to keep us grounded and to help us remember why the LSAT mattered for our goals. In a class of over 40 people, he knew my name and remembered basic facts about me (topics that confused me in the past, what my goal schools were, etc). I recently enrolled in my dream school with a merit-based scholarship and I absolutely attribute a percentage of my success to Anthonys guidance and to the TestMasters curriculum.”

“Studying for the LSAT and working a full-time job can be an especially intimidating prospect. TestMasters gave me the tools and the practice materials necessary to make sure that every second I spent preparing was a step toward a better score on the real test. The quality of the teaching as well as the courses focus on mastering each and every problem type on the LSAT is surely one of the most efficient routes to a great score. Dont waste your time with other LSAT study books, TestMasters will provide you with all the tools you need, and you are guaranteed that every practice problem comes straight from the test itself. When the big day finally came around, I could not have felt more confident and prepared. Thank you TestMasters!”
| Rachel Bisi | Western New England University | Before TestMasters 148 | After TestMasters 167 |
“TestMasters was worth every penny, and I cannot stress that enough. While other programs may provide tempting price deals, you simply cant compromise quality. TestMasters provides first-rate teachers so comfortable with the curriculum you will never for a moment question their competency. On top of that, they provide more study material then you will ever get to...believe me, I tried! Taking TestMasters was by far the best decision Ive ever made and I now have a score that will allow me to get into a great law school; and for that I am forever grateful. Take TestMasters and do the homework, you will knock the test out of the park.”
| Paul Sandler | Tufts University | Before TestMasters 157 | After TestMasters 172 |
“When I decided that I wanted to go to law school, I spoke to a few friends and all of them recommended TestMasters. I asked myself How can one LSAT course really be that much better than all the others? After finishing the program, I understand how. The TestMasters curriculum is so comprehensive, I felt that nothing on the exam would have surprised me (even a rare type 15 question!). Also, the best way to get good at taking the LSAT is to practice, and they gave me more than enough study materials to reach my true potential. Since I got my score back Ive been recommending TestMasters to everyone!”
| Brooks Coe | Middlebury College | Before TestMasters 163 | After TestMasters 180 |
“The TestMasters formula works; what you put in is what you get out. TestMasters offers you everything you need to improve your score—fantastic course materials, instructors, and practice tests with comprehensive explanations. However, there are no shortcuts in the process. When your instructor tells you in the first class that you need to spend 15-20 hours a week studying outside of class, theyre not lying. You have to be committed to see improvement. The good news is that if you are committed, TestMasters offers everything and anything you need to achieve your goals.”
| Kyle Schmitt | Northeastern University | Before TestMasters 143 | After TestMasters 162 |
“I never presumed the LSAT to be a walk in the park, but after taking the first LSAT diagnostic I was seriously overwhelmed and found my score to be much lower than what I was hoping to accomplish. Even though I was discouraged, I resolved to stick out the course and see what happened. I am now confident that it was the best decision I could have made.
I attribute my success to my instructor and the TestMasters program. This course and their instructors are so different from other prep courses because of their approach and the sheer amount of resources given to you. Rather than teaching gimmicks and shortcuts—and believe me there are NO tricks to the LSAT—you are taught how to think and how to apply strategies to every single type of passage and question you may encounter. Not only was my instructor able to tell me why answers were correct, he was also able to explain exactly why all of the other answers were wrong. Because the answer choices sometimes have only slight variations in them, this was extremely useful.
In addition to the in-class hours, TestMasters provides you with extensive homework, supplemental material, and numerous full-length past LSATs. The minute that you have completed a practice exam, a detailed score report is waiting for you. This shows exactly which problems you got wrong and which types of questions they were, providing you with your areas of strength and weakness so you know what you need to work on to maximize your points. As long as you are willing and motivated to put in daily hours of extremely hard work and practice using these resources, you can literally train your mind to think like the LSAT and attack each problem rather than be intimidated.
Looking back on those months of intensive and focused preparation, dedication and sacrifice I now realize that it was all worth it because my score increased by 19 points! Thanks to TestMasters, I can now apply to a wide range of law schools and couldnt be happier. This course is worth all the time and money, and should be recommended to anyone taking the LSAT.”
| Dave Amerikaner | Harvard | Before TestMasters 163 | After TestMasters 175 |
“I first took the LSAT after studying on my own using a preparation book. My score was pretty good, but I decided that I needed a better score to gain admission to the most competitive law schools. I enrolled in TestMasters and took their course, and it made all the difference. I learned new ways to approach logical reasoning questions and better strategies for the reading comprehension section. My instructor made the difference; his teaching style was fast-paced and comprehensive, yet he took the time to fully explain the concepts. My score jumped twelve points when I took the LSAT for the second time, and I couldn’t be more pleased.”
| Katherine Scully | Yale | Before TestMasters 156 | After TestMasters 172 |
“I would certainly recommend taking the TestMasters course to anyone interested in taking the LSAT. In the summer I decided I would register to take the September LSAT, and I signed up for the TestMasters course only days before the first diagnostic. Due to the instruction I received at TestMasters, my score quickly rose into the 170s on my diagnostics, and I scored a 172 on the real LSAT. I am not naturally a logical person, so I was pleased with this score. My TestMasters instructor was a vibrant teacher who was clearly committed to helping each student reach his or her highest potential. Taking TestMasters was also helpful because it familiarized me with the material on the LSAT and presented the underlying logic of the LSAC test writers. By the end of the course, I had a solid understanding not only of why certain answers were correct, but also of why LSAC had asked the question in the first place and why the question was framed that way. I had learned what LSAC was testing on each question. This improved my timing, as I learned to predict the right answer from the question stem before I had read any of the answer options. This also helped my performance on the more difficult questions, as I was able to move beyond the convoluted language and bizarre inverted sentences to discern the logic behind the questions.”
| Mary Goetz | Boston College | Before TestMasters 165 | After TestMasters 174 |
“The TestMasters course provided the structure and detail I needed to study for the LSAT. I found the carefully organized lesson plans, the hundreds of practice problems for each concept, and the online academic support for my specific questions to be extremely helpful. I followed the curriculum exactly and my score improved like clockwork. Whats more, it was actually enjoyable!
My favorite thing about the TestMasters approach is that it doesnt try to teach you cheap tricks or shortcuts—you get plenty of strategic advice and tips for timing that are very helpful, but above all, they teach you how to really learn and understand the concepts behind the test. I didnt feel like I had a superficial knowledge that would get me through the test—I felt like I knew the test, inside and out. I tell everyone I know to use TestMasters—it really is the best!”
| Mallika Balachandran | NYU | Before TestMasters 145 | After TestMasters 175 |
“Unlike other LSAT prep courses which try and teach tricks to answer LSAT questions or how to make your best guess, TestMasters teaches you how to find the correct answer every time. They teach you why that answer is right and every other answer is clearly wrong. They dont take any shortcuts in their teaching methods and instead teach you how to think like the test writers. I loved going to my class and this made studying that much easier. My instructor not only took time to answer all of our questions, she encouraged us to challenge her thinking, until it was clear in all of our minds why the correct answer was correct. I ended up raising my score 30 points because TestMasters taught me how to think like the LSAT.”
| Annie Rittgers | Dartmouth | Before TestMasters 162 | After TestMasters 177 |
“After signing up for the LSAT, I canvassed a group of friends who had gone to law school to see how they had prepared. There was the guy at work who had taken a TestMasters class and spent endless hours on the homework. And the friend at a party who pulled out his phone and texted ‘TestMasters’ to me when I couldn’t hear what he was saying for a second time. Countless others recommended I check out the TestMasters course, get a TestMasters tutor, or use the online material from the TestMasters site. I have to admit that the resounding support made me curious but also a bit skeptical—how could this place be that good? But after taking the self-paced online course, I agree that it is.
The self-paced course is structured for a comprehensive and efficient review of the material covered on the LSAT. With limited time and an unpredictable schedule, it allows you to focus on specific areas while ensuring that nothing slips through the cracks of your study regimen. I’d recommend this version of the course to anyone looking for a way to study independently on a tight timeline...and would even text TestMasters to a friend at a party if they couldn’t hear me raving about it over the music!”
