TestMasters LSAT Course Reviews

Stephanie Dowd | Hamilton College Before TestMasters 157 After TestMasters 170

“I came into my TestMasters course concerned whether it was even possible to improve to the score I wanted after taking my first diagnostic. I was immediately impressed, however, by the organization of the course and the immense knowledge of my instructor. He had the ability to easily explain even the most complex and difficult concepts in a way that everyone could understand. It is obvious that TestMasters rigorously trains its instructors so they are well-equipped to answer any and every question, and I was very grateful for this. I quickly found my confidence increasing as I attended each class and worked through the homework. TestMasters gives each student an immense amount of material that is presented in an effective, well-organized way. I found the diagnostic tests extremely helpful because they really simulate the test day environment. The day of the real test, I felt extremely prepared and confident because of TestMasters. I was committed to improving my score and I would not have done nearly as well without the course. TestMasters provides its students with the knowledge, strategies, and materials that with hard work enable any dedicated test taker to succeed. I would recommend it to anyone taking the LSAT.”

Richard Ragusa | Fordham University Before TestMasters 145 After TestMasters 168

“When I decided to pursue law school, I was nervous about the LSAT because, in general, I did not perform well on standardized tests and I knew nothing about this particular test. My friend recommended I sign up for the TestMasters course because he did so and had fantastic results. Thankfully, I listened to him. I was crushed after I scored a 145 on my first diagnostic because I thought my dream of attending law school was over. I thought it would be impossible to achieve my goal of 160, and I considered giving up. However, my TestMasters instructor explained to me that the first test means nothing and told me about success stories of students improving by 20+ points, which made me believe that with TestMasters a 160 was still possible. Not only did I reach my goal, I far exceeded it. I am now receiving scholarships at schools that I first labeled as reaches, and I am a competitive applicant at schools that I used to only dream about attending. My 23-point increase is indicative of the incredibly effective methods taught by TestMasters to answer all of the different types of questions on the test as well as the dedicated and highly knowledgeable instructors.”

Seth Berliner | Columbia Before TestMasters 166 After TestMasters 178

“TestMasters in general and my class instructor in particular have my undying thanks. I could not have gotten a 178 on the LSAT without TestMasters. From little things like the fact that an either/or construct implies ‘or both’ to bigger things like the proper way to diagram sufficient/necessary statements, the things I learned from the classes and materials were absolutely instrumental to my LSAT success.

My instructor was a great guy and at least as great a teacher. He was appropriately serious but maintained a sense of humor to leaven what can be a very stressful, anxious process of preparation. He was thorough but not ponderous and always made sure to address any lingering questions. TestMasters is an intensive course6 hours of class a week could be rough, but he was able to make sure that the course was intensive without being intense. I feel lucky that he was my instructor.

More generally, the TestMasters course is very well put-together. The lessons are clear and the wealth of prep materials is astounding. I took the LSAT twice, and had more than enough practice questions with which to prepare for each. The strategies, tips, and advice are never less than spot-on and made a world of difference. I knew going in that it would require a high degree of self-motivation, but TestMasters makes it easy to apply oneself fully to the task.

I had several friends who insisted I take TestMasters. Having scored a 166 on my first prep test (without having done any prep), I was hesitant to put in the time and money. I am SO glad that I listened to them and made the investment.”

Mallika Balachandran | NYU Before TestMasters 145 After TestMasters 175

“Unlike other LSAT prep courses which try and teach tricks to answer LSAT questions or how to make your best guess, TestMasters teaches you how to find the correct answer every time. They teach you why that answer is right and every other answer is clearly wrong. They don’t take any shortcuts in their teaching methods and instead teach you how to think like the test writers. I loved going to my class and this made studying that much easier. My instructor not only took time to answer all of our questions, she encouraged us to challenge her thinking, until it was clear in all of our minds why the correct answer was correct. I ended up raising my score 30 points because TestMasters taught me how to think like the LSAT.”

Rebecca Wolozin | Cornell Before TestMasters 157 After TestMasters 173

“TestMasters is an excellent LSAT prep course. It allowed me to distill my inclinations, tendencies, and internal logic into a clear, usable strategy and fundamental understanding of the LSAT. I found that often after learning a logical reasoning strategy, I would finally understand what I had been on the verge of working out in my head! It is clear, intentional, and provides you with everything you need to succeed on the LSAT. The more time and focus you put in, the more you will get out of the class, and the more likely you are to succeed when you finally take the test. By the end of the course, I was excited to take the LSAT and use everything I had learned!”

Rachel Bisi | Western New England University Before TestMasters 148 After TestMasters 167

“TestMasters was worth every penny, and I cannot stress that enough. While other programs may provide tempting price deals, you simply can’t compromise quality. TestMasters provides first-rate teachers so comfortable with the curriculum you will never for a moment question their competency. On top of that, they provide more study material then you will ever get to...believe me, I tried! Taking TestMasters was by far the best decision I’ve ever made and I now have a score that will allow me to get into a great law school; and for that I am forever grateful. Take TestMasters and do the homework, you will knock the test out of the park.”

Kyle Hogan | University of Rochester Before TestMasters 155 After TestMasters 177

“TestMasters’ course structure, analytics, and academic support (shoutout to Megan Giacomantonio) were super valuable. The greatest challenge for me was balancing my own perfectionism with smart time management on the test so I could get to every question, and that is why drilling and practicing timing strategies played a big part in my 22-point score increase. But the tools TestMasters provided are what allowed me to build a systematic and complete knowledge of the test and its content, so I was then able to dedicate my focus to timing.”

Sabina Yevdayeva | Hunter College Before TestMasters 143 After TestMasters 167

“I took TestMasters with Chloe Hurley in preparation for the LSAT. When I first started, it was the first time I had ever seen the test and my score was a disappointing 143. With the help of TestMasters, I was able to score a 167 on the real thing after only twelve weeks of study. Chloe was consistently energetic and upbeat even though the class was from 7 to 10 at night and she made the course as interesting as possible, even through some especially tedious and frustrating material. She consistently answered all my questions, no matter how annoying or repetitive they were, in the most thorough ways possible and never made me feel dumb (even though sometimes I probably was). In the rare instance that she didn’t quite know the best explanation for something, she would go out of her way to find out the answer and relay it to the class. She was great and I would highly recommend her class to anyone preparing for the LSAT.

Beyond that, I was able to consistently watch refresher videos of Robin Singh teaching the lessons online, which was always helpful, especially after a particularly exhausting evening or a particularly difficult concept that needed a little more practice. Beyond that, the online academic support is literally the best. It’s like having a tutor without the extra cost – any question I had, they consistently made sure to answer in the best way possible. One moment stands out: there was this one instructor that recognized I was being lazy in my formulating of questions because I just wanted it explained to me without actually thinking why I got the wrong answer. She told me “I’m going to push back and I want you to explain what your actually thinking on this was”. At first I was irked at this because as we all know when you don’t understand something, it’s easy (and less embarrassing ) to just say explain it to me, but after a few times of this, I would get halfway through trying to explain my thought process and literally say “OH, that’s where I went wrong” and I can’t be more appreciative to her for making me work harder. This class obviously requires work (a lot of it), no one’s going to be doing it for you, but if you put the time and effort in, the support system is there to guide you through it and help you get the best score you can.”

Katherine Scully | Yale Before TestMasters 156 After TestMasters 172

“I would certainly recommend taking the TestMasters course to anyone interested in taking the LSAT. In the summer I decided I would register to take the September LSAT, and I signed up for the TestMasters course only days before the first diagnostic. Due to the instruction I received at TestMasters, my score quickly rose into the 170s on my diagnostics, and I scored a 172 on the real LSAT. I am not naturally a logical person, so I was pleased with this score. My TestMasters instructor was a vibrant teacher who was clearly committed to helping each student reach his or her highest potential. Taking TestMasters was also helpful because it familiarized me with the material on the LSAT and presented the underlying logic of the LSAC test writers. By the end of the course, I had a solid understanding not only of why certain answers were correct, but also of why LSAC had asked the question in the first place and why the question was framed that way. I had learned what LSAC was testing on each question. This improved my timing, as I learned to predict the right answer from the question stem before I had read any of the answer options. This also helped my performance on the more difficult questions, as I was able to move beyond the convoluted language and bizarre inverted sentences to discern the logic behind the questions.”

Alyson O'Desky | Wellesley College Before TestMasters 150 After TestMasters 170

“TestMasters was absolutely fantastic. I was coming out of a great undergraduate school and had a goal of attending a top 20 law school. However my 40th percentile starting point was not going to get me anywhere I wanted to be, so I really have to give credit to the TestMasters course and my brilliant instructor Amelia Brasher for my 20-point score increase. Certainly there was a lot of hard work involved, but the classes were critical to my success. Amelia was always extremely clear in her explanations and made certain that a question was fully understood before moving on. Moreover, she always taught the class with a smile and a great attitudesomething much needed in what could have become an even more stressful process. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the TestMasters prep course. It got me to 170 and made me a competitive candidate for a top law school. I’d recommendand have recommendedTestMasters to anyone taking the LSAT.”

Vartan Badalian | SUNY ESF Before TestMasters 133 After TestMasters 154

“I have nothing but good things to say about the TestMasters LSAT prep course. I went into studying for the LSAT without knowing a single thing about the test, the structure, or what to study. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to go to law school. I signed up for TestMasters, and boy it was a lot of work. I studied for exactly three-and-a-half months, day-in, day-out, and every minute was worth it. Without TestMasters and my extremely supportive instructor I could not have gotten to where I am today.”

Brooks Coe | Middlebury College Before TestMasters 163 After TestMasters 180

“The TestMasters formula works; what you put in is what you get out. TestMasters offers you everything you need to improve your scorefantastic course materials, instructors, and practice tests with comprehensive explanations. However, there are no shortcuts in the process. When your instructor tells you in the first class that you need to spend 15-20 hours a week studying outside of class, they’re not lying. You have to be committed to see improvement. The good news is that if you are committed, TestMasters offers everything and anything you need to achieve your goals.”

The “Before TestMasters” score is from either a pre-course practice LSAT or a pre-course officially administered LSAT, and the “After TestMasters” score is from a post-course officially administered LSAT.
