TestMasters LSAT Course Reviews

James Beale | University of Pennsylvania Before TestMasters 153 After TestMasters 170

“Succeeding at the LSAT takes time and devotion. If you’re serious about the test, you’ll have that. Unfortunately, succeeding at the LSAT also demands a skill set that is almost certainly unlike any you would have built in school. TestMasters gives you that skill set, and gives it to you in spades. My instructor was well trained and personable. It was obvious that he not only knew the test inside and out but could also communicate that knowledge effectively. By the time the test came around I knew there would be nothing that could throw me. Other courses may make sure you work hard, but only TestMasters demands that you work smart. I recommend this course without reservation.”

Stephanie Lax | Temple University Before TestMasters 154 After TestMasters 176

“TestMasters is hands down the best investment I’ve ever made. I went up 22 points from my initial diagnostic solely from studying TestMasters methods and materials. Our instructor was an LSAT expert who could answer any question we had. He made himself available for as long as we needed help, no matter how much time it took. If you commit the time to use all that TestMasters has to offer, you will see a huge improvement in your score and your competitiveness in the application process. The cost of the class will be paid back tenfold in the forms of fee waivers, scholarships, and career opportunities based on your LSAT score. With my LSAT score increase, I’m now competitive at the top 14 schools as compared to schools ranked in the sixties and seventies with my initial diagnostic score.”

Melissa Heller | Lafayette College Before TestMasters 147 After TestMasters 164

“TestMasters was incredibly helpful in my preparation for the LSAT. Prior to taking the course in the summer going into my senior year, I had completed a book of practice LSAT problems. However, even when I was getting questions right, I didn’t always know how I had arrived at the answer. The TestMasters instructors truly take the time to review all of the question types, and make sure that you understand why the right answers are correct and why the wrong answers are not. The homework and diagnostics help to build up your ability and confidence as the test date grows nearer. In the middle of the summer, after Diagnostic 3, I was stuck at 158 and was unsure if I could succeed on the LSAT. I remember being frustrated and upset, but ultimately I was able to use this to motivate myself and work harder on the homework and, with a personal tutor provided by TestMasters, I peaked during the last month leading up to the exam. After scoring in the high 150s/low 160s, I was finally able to score consistently in the 163-165 range. The supplemental diagnostics TestMasters provides were helpful in getting used to the test and gauging my performance. On the final diagnostic I took, I scored a 165. Because it was during the week before the actual LSAT, I was able to have the confidence I needed going into the test. Throughout the actual LSAT, I told myself this was just another TestMasters diagnostic. Thanks to the realistic atmosphere of the diagnostics, the only added pressure I felt was the night before the test. I am so thrilled with my score and the teaching/training method of TestMasters.”

Mallika Balachandran | NYU Before TestMasters 145 After TestMasters 175

“Unlike other LSAT prep courses which try and teach tricks to answer LSAT questions or how to make your best guess, TestMasters teaches you how to find the correct answer every time. They teach you why that answer is right and every other answer is clearly wrong. They don’t take any shortcuts in their teaching methods and instead teach you how to think like the test writers. I loved going to my class and this made studying that much easier. My instructor not only took time to answer all of our questions, she encouraged us to challenge her thinking, until it was clear in all of our minds why the correct answer was correct. I ended up raising my score 30 points because TestMasters taught me how to think like the LSAT.”

Steven Green | University of Pennsylvania Before TestMasters 166 After TestMasters 177

“To be honest, I’ve always been wary of test preparation programs because so many of them promise the world and then fall far short on delivery. TestMasters, on the other hand, truly stands apart. When I took my first diagnostic test, I scored a 166. Because I was actually pretty satisfied by this score without any preparation, I wondered how much TestMasters could help. When I received my score from test day and saw that I got a 177, I got my answer. I am very excited about my application possibilities now and I couldn’t have done it without TestMasters.

The key to the program’s success is its total mastery of the test itself. Robin Singh and his team have developed an intensive course that leaves no stone unturned and no concept untouched. No matter what your skill level is when you enter into the program, TestMasters sees to it that you excel. Many test preparation programs teach you tricks to try to get around the questions, but TestMasters teaches you how to beat the test makers at their own game. By the end of the course, I felt like I already knew the answer after reading the question stem. And by the time I walked into the test center and saw other students who were nervous, I was able to relax because I knew that I had been prepared by the best.

No matter what score you start off with, TestMasters can help you reach your goal score and beyond. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing of a program TestMasters is. Forget the other LSAT study guides, forget other prep classes, TestMasters is all you need to destroy the LSAT when test day comes around. I certainly would not have a 177 without TestMasters, and for that I will always be thankful.”

Richard Ragusa | Fordham University Before TestMasters 145 After TestMasters 168

“When I decided to pursue law school, I was nervous about the LSAT because, in general, I did not perform well on standardized tests and I knew nothing about this particular test. My friend recommended I sign up for the TestMasters course because he did so and had fantastic results. Thankfully, I listened to him. I was crushed after I scored a 145 on my first diagnostic because I thought my dream of attending law school was over. I thought it would be impossible to achieve my goal of 160, and I considered giving up. However, my TestMasters instructor explained to me that the first test means nothing and told me about success stories of students improving by 20+ points, which made me believe that with TestMasters a 160 was still possible. Not only did I reach my goal, I far exceeded it. I am now receiving scholarships at schools that I first labeled as reaches, and I am a competitive applicant at schools that I used to only dream about attending. My 23-point increase is indicative of the incredibly effective methods taught by TestMasters to answer all of the different types of questions on the test as well as the dedicated and highly knowledgeable instructors.”

Tamar Lisbona | University of Pennsylvania Before TestMasters 156 After TestMasters 170

“Preparing for the LSAT can be a stressful undertaking. For me, TestMasters eased that stress. I hadn’t even cracked a prep book before my TestMasters course began, so I can say with confidence that TestMasters gave me the structure and support I needed to raise my score immensely. The TestMasters curriculum begins by teaching the core logical concepts on which the test hangs. By first getting a strong grasp of the constructs that underlie the LSAT, I was well equipped to absorb the subsequent material, and did so at a fast pace. The course also did a great job of pointing out patterns and trends in the questions, which proved incredibly valuable on test day. Furthermore, both during and after the course, I had the support of the full TestMasters staff, and each person I interacted with, whether in person or online, was devoted to my success. Moreover, the individualized support I received from my live class instructor, Robin Singh, also the course author, was truly wonderful and exceeded my expectations. Not only was he always available for questions, but he was able to target my weaknesses and suggest methods for improvement. If you want to feel prepared and assured on test day, choose TestMasters!”

Mary Claire Olivar | Drexel University Before TestMasters 153 After TestMasters 164

“The TestMasters course is amazing, and I can say with absolute honesty that I wouldn’t have been able to garner that much of a score increase without it. First, the materials they supply you with are invaluableoutside the course lessons, you will still have more than enough material to study on your own, which is just as important. Second, my instructor was engaging, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and always available to his students. Having that in-class experience with definitely made a difference, and being able to take full LSAT practice tests in similar test conditions helped prepare me for game day.”

Jordan Murov-Goodman | University of Pennsylvania Before TestMasters 161 After TestMasters 174

“When I asked two friends who are now enrolled at Columbia Law School which prep course to take, they answered unequivocally: TestMasters. So I signed up for their late summer course to prepare for the October LSAT. My instructor was fun, smart, and engaging; most importantly, he could convincingly explain the correct answer to any question thrown at him. The TestMasters course made it easy to identify the types of questions I needed to focus on, but also ensured I got enough practice in all areas. Furthermore, all the questions used in lessons and homework are from past LSATs, which meant there were no surprises on the real thing. TestMasters had a good balance of in-class instruction with individual attention when needed. The course resources and academic support provide explanations for those questions which might not be covered during the lessons. I have no regrets about taking TestMasters–they helped me exceed my target score by several points!”

Scott Jacobson | Wilmington University Before TestMasters 140 After TestMasters 164

“I researched the different LSAT prep options before deciding to take the TestMasters course. I read a lot of positive reviews about TestMasters and they were all warranted. I decided to take the self-paced online version of the course, which was a great balance of structure and flexibility. I was able to set up a study plan and stick with it. The videos were engaging and informative, and the diagnostic tests and analyses were helpful in identifying which problem types were difficult for me. Thanks to TestMasters, schools have been reaching out to me, offering me fee waivers, and asking me to apply. I owe the huge jump in my score to TestMasters and I recommend the course because it really works.”

Tomas Kisielius | Georgetown Before TestMasters 159 After TestMasters 180

“The TestMasters course set me up to be primed and poised going into the LSAT. The class sessions provided clear demonstrations of how to approach different types of questions, and the homework and practice drills cemented these approaches. I found the video explanations of difficult review problems to be particularly helpful as I studied on my own, as they ensured that I always understood why I chose the wrong answer. My instructor, Anthony Meni, was an experienced teacher who consistently engaged with the class. He made an effort to know what was going on in the lives of students, which allowed him to give more personalized advice on studying. He always made himself available outside of class to answer questions, and this was especially helpful as I tried to schedule practice tests and review work optimally in the several weeks right before the LSAT. Most importantly, he instilled in me the mentality that should be used to approach the actual test, which helped me more than any amount of content review could have.”

Ben Reed | Haverford College Before TestMasters 149 After TestMasters 171

“Intro: I came into the LSAT TestMasters class 20 months removed from college, brain ice cold, never having seen an LSAT question before. On my first diagnostic I got a 149. Four months later I was staring, jaw-dropped, at an email telling me I got an LSAT score of 171. 98th percentile baby. This is my story.

I was getting ready to call Princeton Review to sign up for their LSAT class. For no other reason than I knew it existed, and Princeton sounded smart. Yes, I’m a marketing sucker. Fortunately, a friend of mine had taken the LSAT previously and recommended something called TestMasters. ‘Why?’ I wanted to know, should I drop the extra money for something I had never heard of? Her response: ‘It actually teaches you logic. And I’ve seen materials from other classesthey don’t compare to TestMasters.’ I checked her wallet for a TestMasters employment ID card - none existed. I was convinced and I signed up.

I took the spring class in New York in preparation for the June test. From the start I knew I’d made the right choice. For the first 5 weeks, stopwatches don’t exist. It’s about getting the questions right, understanding why, understanding what the question is asking, and most importantly understanding the logic behind it all. My instructor was a great teacher for this. She was patient with every question and explained everything to us ‘like we were 6-year-olds’ to steal a Denzel quote from ‘Philadelphia.’ This was critical - the LSAT is unlike any test you’ve ever taken. Every word matters, every word that’s NOT there matters, every comma matters, and to assume will make an...well you know the expression.

What works at TestMasters is the methodical pace and timing of the classes. Each class focuses on specific question types, and the repetitions in the homework hammer the lesson home. The next class builds off of the concepts learned from the previous class. If you’re building a little ‘logic house’ in your brain, each class is a brick of its own that cannot be laid until the previous layer has settled in. Once the lessons ended, there was enough extra material to work through my weaknesses until I was satisfied. By the beginning of June, I was doingliterally and figurativelyLSAT questions in my sleep.

TestMasters is geared towards teaching you to think the way law schools want you to think. It’s not all about test-taking tricks or memorization; the focus of the class was to provide a theoretical foundation upon which to build your understanding of the test. Do the work, show up to class, and take the diagnostics seriously, and there is no reason you can’t see a 22-point jump in your score like I did. I was looking at state schools beforenow the top 10 is within reach. I have my teacher and TestMasters to thank.”

The “Before TestMasters” score is from either a pre-course practice LSAT or a pre-course officially administered LSAT, and the “After TestMasters” score is from a post-course officially administered LSAT.
